“De Kleine Die” is a historic waterway and neighborhood in Nieuwendam, in the north part of the city. It began as a small peat river flowing into the “IJ” through a sluice, important for trade, shipbuilding, and moving farm goods.
The area grew into a community of fishermen, traders, and shipbuilders. In the
