I did this charcoal, using the coals that fell on us as we evacuated from the Hermits Peak fire two years ago. It will be exactly two years tomorrow that we watched a hundred foot wal of fire roar over the mountain at the other end of Las Vegas. We had to move from Las Vegas New Mexico last year do to a housing crisis caused by the fire, but it still holds a special place in our hearts.

Was looking through some of my misc old art and some of these are better than I remember.

Goes to show you that you should go back and look at old pieces. After a while you forget all the mistakes and things you hated about them. It makes you appreciate them in a different way.

She is a wonderful teacher and it’s so easy to follow her explanation, it was a great learning experience overall.
