Soooo.. talk to me about AirTags. What do you like about the most? How have you used them effectively? Any tips I should know as I get started with them?

I have avoided them entirely, but I have some upcoming international travel where I need to check a bag. A recent experience with someone else using AirTags to know where their luggage actually was, versus where the airline was telling them it was, has made me think an AirTag could be useful for this particular use case.

I’m interested in AirTags (vs all the other location trackers) because I’m DEEP in the Apple ecosystem already, and so this seems to make the most sense.

(And I pretty much NEVER check luggage and just travel carry-on, but in this case I am bringing some notebooks for an event, and so I need the second bag.)

I've been using since they came out. They work well. Batteries last over a year, are a little puzzling the first time you try to change one, but otherwise... they just work.

I have one on each of my two keyrings because I tend to abandon them on the first flat surface I walk by when I get home, and Find My locates them quickly.

They do get separation anxiety if you forget your iPhone and they get too far from it... but they shut up quickly and stay quiet after that.

Only complaint... the noise they make to help find them is absolutely lame and useless beyond 5' if they don't have a fresh battery.
