Sculptor Patrick Dougherty creates installations crafted from sticks and saplings that are meant to blend into their environment ... and then disappear.

"My job is to build a credible illusion that the viewer finds pleasurable. Part of that is to impart a sense of freedom and carefree movement to the surface. I try to build a piece that doesn’t look human-made, that suggests a more organic origin. In part, I use drawing techniques and the magic of line to lighten the sculptures and to avoid a belabored appearance."

Late Autumn/Winter time gardening attempting to propagate some baby spider plants! I cut off 8 of them and put them in cups with a small amount of water and root grow hormone!!! This four year old oak sapling produced a solitary acorn this year.

I think this is the year I'll plant it out in the garden.

I am trying to grow sycamore trees (I think… ) from seeds. So far, six of eight seem to be doing well! Just need to think of somewhere to plant them now…
