"Being addicted to validation."
You may say "Oh no, that's not it - it's about being self-absorbed!"
Those two statements are the same.
The incentive and reward systems of your brain partly relies on your world view, or your understanding of reality. We all try to be tethered to objective reality as much as we can. But the narcissist? Reality is whatever they make of it, as long as it makes them feel good.
This is narcissistic delusion.
