It’s your friendly neighborhood Vinyl Ape, checking in from the road.

Had a fruitful day at Chiliwax Records in Chilliwack, B.C. today.

Coming away with ten great records, some stickers, and other ephemera from my visit.
Was able to get a few very sought after records that have been on my list for a while, and the atmosphere and staff there was very friendly.
I hope to get at least a few more hours in there before I have to depart tomorrow after this stupid wedding.

And there’s still a few more stores to hit on the way back!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everybody!

One of the exquisite joys of #CrateDigging is taking a total shot in the dark and landing an unexpected gem. I picked up this double CD despite never having heard of Tampa Red because it was only $1, so why the hell not? Turns out, it’s pretty great old-time blues! Tampa Red’s voice isn’t as distinctive as some of the giants, but how many of *them* had the guts to accompany themselves on KAZOO?

Today's #fleamarket finds. The Herbie Mann is no full-size die-cut LP cover but it'll do for now. I am not 100% certain I don't already own Dummy but truly it is one of those "don't mind having a spare to give a friend should occasion arise" albums. The Edgar Meyer/Josh Bell was a pleasant surprise, one I've been wanting for years. It will probably drag me back into virtuoso instrumental newgrass land for a while #crateDigging

My allergies exploded this week and I've spent the last five days with a sinus headache. It hasn't left me wanting to listen to music much. Feeling better this afternoon though, finally, so while I sit in the car outside the archery range I'm going to catch up on some new releases!
