@X31Andy yes, the #usa is a big customer, but, as #trump would say: #china holds all the cards.

They can make “bigly” deals with the rest of the world, all of whom are equally pissed at trump and ready to “jump ship” on their alliance with the US.

For example: dumping cheap and technically superior #BYD #EV’s into #canada and South America.

When the dust settles, China will have left the US in the dust.

4. The most important part, why I considered the app at all, doesn't work: Firmware update! The app believes, that it has no Internet connection, while the Win11 on which it runs and the Mac below have it of course.
5. Very interesting from an InfoSec perspective: It seems the app checks credentials while it has not established a connection to the battery yet, i.e. the credentials are baken into the app and the battery itself is unprotected? OMG. Would love to see an audit of this.

As much as I like my BYD HVS 12.8 battery tower, the software BYD adds to it (Be Connect), is totally ... speechless:
1. Windows or iOS only, no MacOS
2. Can connect to the battery-internal WiFi-access point only, even if the battery is connected via eth-interface already. Had to define a static route.
3. Even with the static route the iOS-app cannot connect, most likely, b/c the app is looking for a specific SSID. However, the Windows app (via Parallels) connects and it looks like this…

Selbst wenn man den Marketingaspekt des Videos abzieht ist das technisch durchaus beeindruckend und innovativ was BYD da macht – in gleich mehreren Aspekten.¹

Und wie hält die deutsche Automobilindustrie dagegen? Lobbing um länger ihre Verbrenner bauen zu können.²

Active magnetic suspension, 4-motor drive 1300hp, independent turning on every wheel. It can literally climb stairs, u-turn in place on a narrow road & shift itself sideways to park.
