Twitter Unofficial API is live!
The Twitter API allows users to log in quickly and securely with their Twitter account. In just a few simple steps, users can access their accounts.
Are there any functioning tools out there that are paying for #TwitterAPI access so that they can continue to offer great tools like #fedifinder #movetodon #Twitodon #debirdify etc used to be able to offer? i.e. helping to find your #Twitter #X contacts on #Mastodon?

"The new Twitter is changing rapidly — study it before it’s too late. ... [X] rapidly changes into something new and frightening, we risk paying too little attention. ... A small group of 7 accounts, many unknown a year ago, were racking up hundreds of millions of views each day, out-performing standard news accounts by an order of magnitude and exercising significant influence on the discourse around the war."
If you're using #Twitter and you need to batch-save tweets from some feeds and don't want to pay a ridiculous amount of money for the API, and you don't need it to run completely automatically, I made a Ruby gem that extracts tweet data from browser JSON responses: https://github.com/mackuba/bad_pigeon #TwitterAPI
If any of you have opinions on the best uses of the Twitter API, then now is your chance to tell the Threads developers what they should build: https://www.threads.net/@0xjessel/post/CwhKkC1uIN8/
I am surprised that they are soliciting this so directly. They might be willing to build what people want based on your feedback if you see anything missing.
This developer even speaks frankly about Activitypub as an intended future thing so I think it's coming.

@BaronD You can ask that from @eib but I'm not sure they're active any more. I've relayed at https://twitter.com/nemobis/status/1677781508910731264 . Currently #ResPublicae is still half broken due to #TwitterAPI changes but hopefully we're not missing alt text where available.

@egonw Seems a bit overkill: who's going to to crosslink proprietary identifiers other than Wikidata? (They could even be personal data, so it helps to have some indication of notability to override that.)
But maybe someone who's already collecting them (or has and doesn't mind losing #TwitterAPI access) could try #Wikibase (https://socialblade.com ?). Waive the #DatabaseRights on the SPARQL endpoint and see how long it takes until the source of 99 % of the PD data sues. Useful precedent!
I'm sorry I don't think I can stop. Maybe. Just pray that this is my last one because otherwise this will be a long night for me and who ever else reads my posts.
I know I've been #shitposting a lot about the various social media platforms but...yeah I'm not stopping anytime soon. Or at least not until I'm out of ideas or get tired of rehashing the same jokes.
Anyways here's another.

A Twitter Engineer thoughts (I'm not one):
"Great. See, this is how it all starts. We're all just living in Elon's world, guess who they'll blame? 'This is all The Twitter Engineers' fault. What tools they are. I have to spend all day staring at rate limited messages because Elon is the Overlord"
