Oli Update:
Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race

Oli, the now famous feline, sailing in calm seas as second mate on the vintage yacht Sylph VI, is enjoying the ride, getting lots of bunk time with the skipper, Bob Williams. The two-man-one-cat crew toasted in the New Year with a can of soda water. ETA into Hobart is sometime on the 3rd of January. All is well.

Oli Update - under the stormy conditions of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race:

"It's bouncy conditions, but we've got a bit of breeze and we still have the fleet in sight."

Sylph VI was on the fourth start line, furthest back. But this meant they had less of the spectator craft to negotiate.

What of his historic fellow crew member, the first cat to sail to Hobart?

"Oli has crashed out on the starboard settee, with his head on the pillow — he looks very peaceful," Skipper Bob Williams said.

Hopefully today history will be changed.

If everything goes as planned, Kathy and Bridget's Currawong[1] will become the first two handed female crew[2] to complete at the age of 70 and 62!

They are on FB and Instagram (search for 2birds2hobart on both platforms) and regardless of their results, drop them a note.

I am sure they will be delighted with messages commending their incredible journey.
