While I’m hopeful Labor will get another run in office, I am not sure of it. You’re right… the #Noalition campaign run by the #Murdoch and #Stokes machines is overwhelming Labor’s modest legislative progress because those #CorporateMedia outlets control the version of ‘news’ Australians get to see/hear/read.

I don’t know what the answer is to overcome the political slush that is drowning the electorate. Education? A slight interest in politics from your average Aussie voter? Less of a focus on what’s in it for me? Some empathy for the growing number of Aussies having a hard time putting food on the table and a roof over their head perhaps? All the usual things I normally think about when ‘thinking’ before ‘voting’.

‘Ahead of next week’s federal budget, it is time to remind you of my budget commandment: “Everything is affordable if the government chooses to care about it.” There has never been a true priority of a government, or an emergency, or urgent expense which has not been paid for because the government could not afford it, because it had to “live within its means”.

I point this out because we are going to hear a lot about budget decisions and deficits and I want you all to realise that every single thing done and not done in the budget is because of a choice made by the government. Nothing happens “just because”.’

Greg Jericho repeats his mantra. TBF, he is 100% correct.

March 25th is going to be interesting. I’m betting #Dutton ‘s reply speech will not disappoint all the RWNJs who support the policy-less #Noalition

Dutton under pressure to give MPs ‘anything to sell’ to voters as cost-of-living budget looms theguardian.com/australia-news?

How dare the #Noalition comment on subsidies largess from the #Labor govt’s budget which are focussed on alleviating the #cost-of-living-crisis when a decade of $LNP govt saw massive subsidies to #ExtractiveIndustries and tax breaks for the #wealthy. Does the electorate really have that short a memory?

The Guardian · Dutton under pressure to give MPs ‘anything to sell’ to voters as cost-of-living budget loomsBy Dan Jervis-Bardy

“Albanese and his Foreign Minister Penny Wong have now substantially restored relations fractured by Coalition ineptitude with Japan, China, Vietnam, the U.S., Germany, Indonesia and most other regional neighbours.”

The above is rarely reported (nevermind lauded) in what we know as our main stream media outlets which, unfortunately, lack editorial morals and the journalistic capacity to inform the electorate. I can understand why it doesn’t. Why report without biases when their ‘owners’ can put polies in their pocket with dis/misinformation and strut around like pheasants basking in their power to sway govt policies in their favour. #Murdocracy #msm #foreignpolicy #Noalition #anitfa time to reform the media regulations. #reform
