@edwiebe

Ed, it all depends on perspective. Right now, if #America were to invade #Canada, the #F16's we had been using as ALLIES of the #US would be rendered useless the moment their #MilitaryIndustrialComplex flipped the "kill switch" on those jets. America's #ODIN program controls #communications and targeting equipment, among other things. Once that kill switch is engaged, our pilots would be flying blind. Useless.

We can't depend on America anymore. We need our own planes.

“Take it from a military historian: The #Canadian soldiers were formidable, as were the sailors who escorted convoys across the North Atlantic and the airmen who flew in the Battle of Britain and the air war over Germany. #Canada’s 44,000 dead represented a higher percentage of the population than America’s losses in the Second World War. Those who served were almost entirely volunteers.

Bottom line: It is not a good idea to invade Canada.”

Important context -

“Over 90% of the Great White North flatly refuses the notion that we’d be better off part of America’s Kakistocracy. 92%* would take up arms and a staggering 80% categorically hate America’s rapist in Chief.“

*Edit: I haven’t been able to confirm the stats. I did find results for 52% saying they’d personally defend, with 83% of those 55 years of age +. Even with that, it’s millions of Canadians.

“The tariff policy and the fentanyl fantasy both come from another place: the desire to annex Canada.

The fentanyl propaganda is most likely designed to prepare Americans to see Canada as an enemy. The only way for the United States to achieve such a territorial aggrandizement would be threats intending to make Canadians surrender, or an actual invasion of #Canada. In such a pursuit, associating Canada with our addiction crisis is useful propaganda.”

“The Trump regime is using the dictator’s playbook against what was once its closest ally.

This increasingly looks like a destabilization campaign aimed at annexing Canada. It would be foolish to believe this will be limited to the economic realm. If America is intent on annexing Canada, the CIA will be kicking into overdrive.”

palecek.substack.comIt’s not a trade war; it is a destabilization campaign.The erratic swings in trade policy are not a bug, they’re a feature.

It's obviously more important than ever that Canada diversify from the US. What better place to start than with the EU? We must forge tighter trading ties with the European Union and its individual member countries, and despite the UK government's apparent indifference to our plight with the UK as well.

I expect more from France and the UK, given their historical ties to colonial Canada and Canada's unwavering support for them in their times of need.
