"[T] he court is mired in a crisis of ethics. Scandals involving several justices have caused the public to question the court’s fairness and independence, which are essential to faithfully carrying out its mission of equal justice under the law.

What is happening now is not normal, and it undermines the public’s confidence in the court’s decisions, including those impacting personal freedoms. We now stand in a breach."

The Washington Post · Joe Biden: My plan to reform the Supreme Court and ensure no president is above the lawBy Joe Biden
William Hughes

@wdlindsy I know has to be diplomatic and not call out any specific by name, but we should.

There are several Justices who don't have scandals. But and have multiple questionable benefits from wealthy benefactors who have interest in outcomes even if they aren't specifically on the list appearing before the Court. Plus both of their spouses are deeply involved in movement BS.

It's frustrating to some extent because in attempting to avoid being bombastic, some politicians and press use general terms like "the Supreme Court" when there are specific Justices misbehaving. It happens with "Congress" instead of "House Republicans" too.

@wdhughes I agree. This is very well-stated, and I intend to boost it.

@wdhughes @wdlindsy I think with AOC filing to impeach those 2 in particular it’s clear, but yes… everyone should have been calling out criminal scotus judges by name as soon as their activities were exposed.
