I'm an atheist, but karma is real y'all. What good is it to live in a world where I have more and people around me are miserable.
Cities that have a high wealth disparity also have a high crime rate. By taking from society to enrich themselves personally, people end up unable to walk down the street, and have to create gated communities.
We live in the world we collectively make.
It is a kind of karma. We have a collective karma.
@selzero @tomcapuder @jbqueru I think that's just "consequences".
You say potato I say potato.
@selzero @tomcapuder @jbqueru there are spiritual overtones with the term “karma” I prefer to avoid.
Yes but Chris those overtones exist because we look at Eastern Philosophy through our Abriamic Western view, that is individualistic, selfish, and micro, rather than communal and macro.
@selzero @tomcapuder @jbqueru No, I just try to avoid spirituality.
Same. Atheist here. I even get a rash from horoscopes. I'm just saying a karma does not have to imply spirituality
Ok don’t be a semantic stick in the mud.
If someone claims publicly that karma is real, I'll challenge it.
Maybe you shouldn't tell people how to toot. 'Bye!
@GuyDudeman @tomcapuder @selzero @jbqueru
I know THIS is also a semantic quibble, but I do love the expressiveness of your phrase "semantic stick in the mud".
@weekend_editor @tomcapuder @selzero @jbqueru
Haha thanks. He blocked me anyway, which I don't think was fair, and only proved further that he's a semantic stick in the mud.
