It's amazing how many times Sony worked "standalone" into the DVD blurb and quotes for 'Kraven the Hunter' given that their obvious attempts to connect it to Spider-man is what broke the film.

letterboxd.comA ★★ review of Kraven the Hunter (2024)I think this might be the best of Sony’s trilogy of shame; it is definitely the easiest to see what the good version of this film is, which arguably makes its short comings more frustrating. Turning Kraven into a quasi-ecoterrorist (transforming him from poacher to gamewarden) who gets entangled with the Russian mob is smart, it’s a good way to turn a villain into an anti-hero, it’s a good setup for an action movie and when it’s trying to be that movie it’s solid.
