Remember in the nineties when you learned you got laid off by the morning news, or by turning up for work and finding the security shutters locked.

@georgetakei I mean, I had a job where the company went out of business over the weekend, and everyone still there found out Monday morning when the doors were locked. No sign, no email, no phone call. Just the building was locked and no one could get in.
And this was a business with ~100K customers around the country, not a restaurant or store.
We used to joke about not being able to check our email is the first sign you were being fired.
It's a scary insite into the near future, and they won't get 'laid off' they will be fired.
People that are 'laid off' get back money they put into Unemployment Insurance right away....
