@georgetakei it's because she's so adoorable
@mrsbeanbag Good one!
@georgetakei
Doh, a door, a female door...
@georgetakei the first year my son got on the Nativity Stage he was cast as a tree. The following year they were so impressed by his wooden acting that he got promoted to be Herod. I recall he got the killer line, in relation to the the goings on in Bethlehem "Nobody tells me anything".
This is Horrible. This is Tragic! Imagine that you are in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or at most 4th grade.... that it is the Christmas Season... and your are full of the Hope and Joy of the possibilities of presents under a tree... and maybe... Santa!
And your school casts you in the Nativity Play as the character who best fits all of your gifts and your dreams for the future!
And they cast you as... A Door!
How is your Wise and Mature son going to handle this when you aren't looking anyway?

@georgetakei I always feel for the teachers in this situation. There's only so many angels you can have before it looks weird.
For any teachers reading this, get lots of cheap false beards. Big ones. Think Discworld dwarf of Gimli from LotR. Any kid can be a shepherd or wise man in a large enough beard.
@georgetakei They were going to cast her as a shepherdess who had recently lost her husband, but at the last moment they realized she'd make a better door than a widow.
@georgetakei I think she should go full Hitchhiker's Guide with the role.
"Please enjoy your trip through this door..."
@georgetakei But this is good! The only one in the Book who ever says "I am the door" is Jesus.
They've cast her as Jesus!
@georgetakei at least she's not cast as a doormat.
@georgetakei Better than a mangy manger.
@georgetakei
Look at you. All condoning the cast system I'm disapointed
@georgetakei oh no oh I laughed so much. Reminds me of that bit in To Kill a Mockingbird where Scout's costume is a ham.
@georgetakei Before, it was a tree.
