The prompt is Noise
No Noise, “Expand Your Mind” from Chakra Lounge Volume 2, 2004
So many choices for this week’s prompt, so I went with the most obscure. Chakra Lounge is a 2-volume series of #trippy #lounge-y music put out by Italian label Twilight music, released only in Italy and Germany. No Noise’s track “Expand Your Mind” also appeared a year later on the gorgeous Chillounge compilation on Intentcity Records in the US.
With all the (delightfully) noisy submissions this week, I thought it would be a refreshing counterpoint to go with the smoovest, #chill-est track ever - and you know me and my #downtempo compilations. This track drifts in and lifts you on #calm, soulful waves, with its blatant #PinkFloyd quote threaded throughout, carrying with it so much subtext. Now breathe, breathe in the air…
