Yeah. About that. I had an epiphany the other day while watching DIS or SNW. I consider myself pretty tolerant for a white boomer, but I’ll admit I used to think LBGTQ+ content somehow distracted from content.
Then, while watching, I remembered all the tributes from black women when Nichelle Nichols passed who said Uhura was an inspiration, the first time they felt representation, as little girls, on a TV show in America.

The epiphany was that my discomfort at seeing men kiss is a fucking small price to pay for the millions of people that identify as gay or non-binary to finally have that same representation that they deserve, and that I’ve always had.

As our MAGA friends are fond of saying, “Fuck my feelings.” I embrace the woke. Even more today than yesterday.
