The glider fuselage is on its side and I'm sanding one half of the fuselage in this orientation.
I'm sanding with a very flexible piece of foam rubber. My goal is to prep the surface for final painting. I'm using 220 grit today.
Tomorrow I'll flip the fuselage over to work the other side.
My final grit before painting will be 400.

Does the design allow for a transponder antenna in the tail/rudder area?
I quite like what some of the commercial manufacturers like Schleicher did there. I managed to break the transponder stub antenna on my ASH-26E (installed offset behind the main gear)... when (mis-)handling it into the trailer. Based on ADS-B PAPR reports for new Schleicher gliders I've looked at the antennas seem to be fine how they are installing them in the tail/rudder area.
The rudder is fiberglass sandwich, and a dipole for aviation band radio is installed.
I will install a shark fin transponder antenna on the belly behind the landing gear.
Great stuff, thanks for equipping with a transponder.
Hopefully Bob gets a chance to look at transponder antenna fin installs. something to potentially lay in when bonding the fueslage halves.
