George Takei :verified: 🏳️‍🌈🖖🏽

Trump’s lawyer Evan Corcoran was so afraid he would get in legal trouble himself that he made lengthy notes and audio recollections of all their interactions.

Because Trump tried to use Corcoran to obstruct justice, those notes and recordings are now in Jack Smith’s hands.

Welp.

@georgetakei

hahahahahahahahHA!

Now, what will Smith's hands do with them? I *want* to trust in him to do the right thing but....

@georgetakei I'll know Smith is taking this seriously when I see Trump in cuffs. Lots of smoke but zero fire thus far. Mueller Time 2.0.

@georgetakei Lock his Orange shit stain Traitor POS megalomaniac narcissist fat ass up already!!!! And Fu*k DeathSantis!!!

@otownKim @georgetakei Yes, we know that people are impatient. I also know that people from the DoJ have commented about how fast things normally move (not). And if you want things done right, do you do them fast and slapdash, or carefully?

@ariaflame @georgetakei Carefully and faster hopefully. It's been years since Drumpf literally admitted his Crimes!. I do have some hope for Georgia and the movement of Jack Smith. I'm just tired of the emboldened GQP! It's exhausting 😫

@otownKim @georgetakei It is, though at least one YouTuber has pointed out that things come out faster when it gets close to an indictment, so considering recent things.... It took years for Watergate. And that was relatively simple.

@ariaflame @otownKim @georgetakei

All these people seem to have no idea how slowly the wheels and gears of law move.

A friend of mine was murdered back in 2017. They have a suspect in jail. They have both physical and video evidence. And the guy still hasn't been tried.

@ariaflame @otownKim @georgetakei if they don’t speed things up trump will be back in the whitehouse and firing everyone involved in the investigation.

@CitizenZ @ariaflame @otownKim @georgetakei this is also in the back of my mind. I want them to be thorough, but also, we can't let Trump run again.

@CitizenZ @otownKim @georgetakei Which is why it's important that he doesn't get back in. Which is the voter's job, not the DOJ.

@georgetakei This is nothing new. During his Plaza Hotel managed bankruptcy, his own lawyers learned to never not go in two-at-a-time, so there always was a witness. As a lawyer myself, that told me everything I ever needed to know about the man. That is NOT NORMAL.

@georgetakei meme of the skeleton in cobwebs: me waiting for Trump's arrest, after decades, thinking, "surely... any day now!"

@georgetakei Trump is known to be terrible around his political confidants, having outbursts of rage etc. I strongly suspect that there are more of them who made this kind of recordings.

@georgetakei The only good thing about Republicans is the sheer delight that comes with watching them fail.

@georgetakei Smith needs to take action now. Once the campaign is underway it will be too late.

@georgetakei
Left unsaid, the reason that Corcoran was afraid he would get in legal trouble was Trump was trying to use him to obstruct justice.

@georgetakei I’m starting to get the feeling that Donald “John” Trump isn’t the stable genius he claims to be.

@xerge @georgetakei stable... No doubt... But on what level?

@mr_huffle @georgetakei we’re probably safe from spontaneous nuclear fission or fusion. That’s as far as I am willing go based on the limited information we have.

@georgetakei

It's uninformed opinion from the cheap seats, but I think we're 'letting the perfect get in the way of the good enough.' Is there anyone here who would seriously contend that there is not yet enough evidence to assure a Trump conviction?

Jerk us around long enough, and you lose us forever. Not sure what other allegiance to go to, but the current application of justice IS NOT JUSTICE, when it comes to the big boys.

@skydog @georgetakei You have to seal all the possible exits and plug all the possible holes before you go in for the kill. If you miss something, you can end up with nothing. And there's no second chance. It takes superhuman patience to go after the "big" ones, but the "big" ones will make you pay if you make a mistake.

@st_zu @georgetakei

Infinite patience is weakness and stupidity, begging for forgetfulness.

@georgetakei @skydog Nope, it's a big part of the hunt. And an "annoyingly long time" is not "infinite".
@georgetakei @skydog I get it, i understand the process and why it is the way that it is. All that aside, I'm sick of waiting.

@georgetakei I think I’m ready for the final episode of this long-running series by now. I can supply the ending. Orange suit and handcuffs.

@georgetakei we’re focused on Trump, Russia and China. Not on bettering the US or our relationship with the world. So many countries we can build a future with. It’s like playing pool, focus on the opponent, you lost. Focus on the table. We’re right where Trump, China and Russia want us to be. We should have faith to know that if we do the right things for humanity and the world, all will work out.

@georgetakei I said this with Robert Mueller. People are repeating the same mistake with Jack Smith. None of these people are going to save us from Trump. It's one thing to not learn from History, but Mueller was 4 years ago!!

@georgetakei MAGA, is that,, "MAKE ATTORNEYS GET ATTORNEYS"?
