@KFuentesGeorge Good for them, that’s disruptive and scary for everyone on the bus. I know I would be frightened.

@KFuentesGeorge bus drivers are the glue that holds societies together

@KFuentesGeorge and this right here is why I smile and wave at bus drivers when I'm walking my dog

@KFuentesGeorge
When the Greyhound bus driver has more balls to gargle than senate leader #ChumpSchumer

@KFuentesGeorge This reminded me of when I catch the bus to a protest in Portland, years ago. The driver gave us all transfers that didn't expire for HOURS so we could all get back home for free.

@KFuentesGeorge

I wonder if this is a pure business decision. "If people think we're letting ICE agents on board, our ridership will plummet."

@trabern

@tarheel @KFuentesGeorge @trabern Unfortunately, it has to at least be a factor.

@tzudad

Wasn't intending to be cynical. Good if there's a solid business case to be made for FUCK YOU, MAKE ME.

@KFuentesGeorge @trabern

@tarheel Unsure what you mean, but I didn't mean to offend.

@tzudad

Oh, sorry, not offended.

There's this thing that the best response to Trump admin shenanigans is "FUCK YOU, MAKE ME" (i.e., resistance rather than capitulation). I'm just happy if there's a business case for this in addition to the moral case.

@tarheel Thanks, but now I feel dumb. I failed to connect the now obvious intent.

@KFuentesGeorge
Greyhound does not allow ICE or Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents to conduct warrantless searches or immigration enforcement activities on its buses or in non-public areas of its terminals. This policy has been in place since February 2020, following pressure from advocacy groups like the ACLU. Greyhound explicitly requires federal law enforcement agents to present judicially enforceable warrants for access to its buses or property.
ACLU

@KFuentesGeorge We may not agree with ICE officers, but we should still show them the level of respect they deserve, and “gargle my balls” does not live up to this standard. The driver should have used appropriate adjectives like “sweaty” or “hairy”.

@KFuentesGeorge I have a problem with this report: Does "[his]" refer to the bus driver or the ICE agent? If the latter, there's a precondition that the ICE agent would have had to spent a lot of time in yoga classes in order to be capable of pulling this off.

@bzdev @KFuentesGeorge
As funny as your variation is, I do believe the direct quote from this driver was "gargle my balls", as in, "If you think you're coming on this bus without a warrant, you can gargle my balls. I have a schedule to run."

@TanekRune @KFuentesGeorge I didn't see a direct quote from the driver. I was replying to a toot which contained "[his]" instead. The result was that what I saw was out of context.

@KFuentesGeorge
I'm so proud of my hometown of Seattle for this.

@KFuentesGeorge

Ah, the riot starts with bus drivers! Bet no one had this on the bingo card.

Impressive! 🫶
