So let me make sure I have my American food terminology right...
French Fries - Fried potato slices, not invented in France and using potatoes that come from America
Chili - A bean dish, served hot
Hot Dogs - Sausages served on a bun, which are not made with actual dogs
Salisbury Steak - A ground beef patty, which has nothing to do with Salisbury, England
Hamburger - A different beef patty, which has nothing to do with the city of Hamburg; also, it is not made with ham
And now you're telling me that "German chocolate cake" isn't even from Germany??
What is this world coming to?
@AnneTheWriter1 @georgetakei Canadian Bacon = it's just ham. No connection to Canada, they don't even know what it is there.
@BlueAppaloosa @AnneTheWriter1 @georgetakei Sure we do, we just call it back bacon
@pjohanneson @BlueAppaloosa @georgetakei
But... Is it only taken from the "back" of the pig?
Because that name doesn't make sense, either.
@AnneTheWriter1 @BlueAppaloosa @georgetakei
Kinda? "Back bacon is a cut of bacon that includes the pork loin from the back of the pig."
What's this world coming to, you ask? The hole with that toad in it.
@AnneTheWriter1 Oh no, not that! I fear you might have accidentally summoned the slumbering 'no beans in my chili' monster.
