Welcome to all the recent #TwitterMigrants !
If you hear stories about #JohnMastodon, they're not real-- well, *maybe* not.
Just remember: There is no algorithm here for people who do not follow you to find you. The best way to have your toots seen is by following accounts you enjoy and using lots of hashtags (like these ).
Be sure to follow @feditips for more helpful #newbie information.
Legends say #JohnMastodon was once a citizen of the Kingdom of Twitter. But decided to head out into the frontier to establish his own kingdom, The #Mastodonian #Federation or the #Fediverse.
Since then, three tyrants have been vying for power: King Musk of the #Twitter Kingdom, Emperor Marc von #Zuckerburg III of the #Threads Empire and Earl #JackDorsey of the #BlueSky Estate.
Don't forget Stephen, the Huffman, ruler of #Reddit.
But #JohnMastodon has brought #Democracy to his land. I am sure that freedom will eventually triumph over tyranny.
I forgot about Reddit but then again I classify Reddit into a separate category.
I've been working on establishing meme lore for these websites.
Although maybe I should include Huffman in the lore.
Hmm. Maybe I give him the title: Regent Huffman of the Reddit Dominion?
@SirViolentDeath I do hope the anime adaptation goes well - really looking forward to it!
@AnneTheWriter1 @feditips How dare you besmirch the good name of Sir John Of Mastodon! We all know who his father was!
@AnneTheWriter1 @feditips
So basically, #JohnMastodon is like a mixture of Johnny Appleseed, Moses, and that guy from that old 70s Kung Fu show?
@IntentionallyBLANK @AnneTheWriter1 @feditips David Carradine! Loved that show!!
@AnneTheWriter1 @feditips OTH the reason we even have a "John Mastodon" is funny.
@AnneTheWriter1 yeah btw, starting with zero, won't mean not to be seen, maybe some yet wait for more toots, if they be their taste ...to react by heart/a star to bookmark or retooting it to their timeline, reviewing a video or reading up to 1k-letters later as they scrolled by but being wow'ed in what newcomers be sayin'?
Great advice! Search is also a bit of a circus. I wrote a guide about it. Hopefully it will help folks:
