The rusted metal roof and weathered siding of his old barn in Chatham NH are very reddish-orange. Most of Chatham lies in the White Mountain National Forest, and the only road north out of town is closed for five months every year. You'll find it at https://fineartamerica.com/featured/chatham-new-hampshire-barn-karl-johnson.html?newartwork=true
Sugar Hill, New Hampshire is known for its amazing views of the White Mountains and lupine fields. The flat lighting of an overcast afternoon lends a forsaken mood to the photo. Order a framed print at https://fineartamerica.com/featured/sugar-hill-farm-karl-johnson.html?newartwork=true
I was driving through Lisbon, New Hampshire when I spotted this little barn with four small windows. Each window had a different pattern of broken panes, and the texture of the weathered clapboards created a great frame for them. A weathered old barn sits in a field by the road on a rainy Autumn day. The barn and fall foliage are reflected in the wet road. See it full-size at https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/9-karl-johnson?tab=artwork&page=3
I've driven by this old red barn in Lisbon, New Hampshire for years but never saw a photo before today. It's overgrown with vegetation in what's left of fall color. The overcast lighting contributes to the forlornness of the photo. Order a print at https://fineartamerica.com/featured/a-matter-of-time-karl-johnson.html
A rustic barn with a weathered roof sits amid vibrant autumn trees under a bright blue sky dotted with stratus clouds. The leaves are beginning to drop, and tall pines tower over what's left of the orange and red foliage in Bath NH. I was driving along a back road in Haverhill NH when I noticed this mule watching me. He stood there patiently posing while I stopped the car and took out my camera. 9-karl-johnson.pixels.com

When I took this photo back in August 1992, this lovely farm in Cornwall, Connecticut was producing raw milk. The red barns stand in a lush green field under a partly cloudy sky. A large tree standing behind a stone wall casts a shadow on the main barn. Order it from my inline gallery at 9-karl-johnson.pixels.com
The additions to this barn in Wentworth, New Hampshire tell a story. The large gambrel roof barn was most likely built in the mid-to-late 1800s. When the herd outgrew the old barn in the early 20th Century, the second barn with a new milk room was added. See this image full size at: 9-karl-johnson.pixels.com
This red barn in Monroe NH has not been used for more than twenty years and needs extensive structural repair. If you look closely, you can see the spire of the Congregational Church of Barnet VT across the Connecticut River. Purchase a print of this image at my online gallery at 9-karl-johnson.pixels.com
While pigeon flocks are usually associated with cities, they live in rural areas as well. Pigeons seem to be attracted to barns, and this flock has gathered on a red barn in Cornish NH. Visit my online gallery at 9-karl-johnson.pixels.com
The sun is low in the late afternoon, and it casts a dramatic shadow of a tree onto this old red barn in Lyman NH. The section of the barn on the right with the vertical siding looks like an old English-style barn. The section on the left appears to have been added at a later date. See it in hi-res in my online gallery at 9-karl-johnson.pixels.com
