Minor Daredevil Born Again Spoilers

I'm on episode three of Daredevil: Born Again.

And guys, it's so weird that Fisk and Daredevil seem to be teamed up against the friggin' NYPD.

WTF.

I finished #Daredevil and oh boy…these 9 episodes were just a boring setup? After it was over the actual story could start…why make that 9 boring episodes with tons of filler stuff? It should have been 3 episodes and then finish up the story arc till episode 9.

That's a wrap for my OG Daredevil rewatch and 'Born Again' catch up. Really loved the first, overall enjoyed the latter. I don't think the revival is perfect, it doesn't quite reach the peak of the Netflix show, but it eventually rises above the limitations of the creative overhaul it went through and makes for a strong return of some familiar characters, ends on a high note, and sets up a promising premise for Season 2.

Spoilers about Daredevil Episode 9

So, in #DareDevil, I am expected to believe, as a person who gets up in the morning, pays any attention to the news, and isn't himself a Nazi, they're expecting me to believe that the police Commissioner OF THE NYPD is the one who stands *against* an authoritarian takeover by a New York mayor?

Hahahahahahahahaha!

Fuck you.

I want to like Daredevil Born Again but... I don't know. I guess the fact that it was full of rewrites and reshoots is just too visible. It doesn't feel like a story or a season or something, but a patchwork of stories bundled up together and in the end, it really lacks focus.

There are some very good moments, but it's also just too messy overall and goes into too many directions.

Hopefully season two will be more focused.

Also, I know, I'm the one who always complains about unnecessary cameos and stuff, but the show feels quite remote from the rest of the MCU. The ending of the season should have some implications on the greater MCU and all the superheroes that are NY residents, but I suspect it won't. Oh well.

#Daredevil #MCU

So I thought last week was the finale of #Daredevil, but I was quite wrong. I figured it was ending on a cliffhanger, but THIS episode... well... anyway.

It's more than a bit chilling how much Fisk's administration feels a whole lot like Trump's administration.

And I don't even mean that with hyperbole.

Daredevil: Born Again was released in March this year. So it must have been written by the time production was halted by the writer's strike in 2023. Given that, it's disturbingly prescient, modelling at city scale roughly what Orange Stalin's administration are doing in federal government level.

It's as good as the Netflix series IMHO.
