CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) – A man exiting his car after a two-car collision died after being struck by another car Sunday morning in Pickaway County.

According to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call regarding a motor vehicle crash on U.S. 23 North, just north of the Island Road crossing intersection. The driver of the truck attempted to make a left turn when a 2022 Nissan rear ended the back of the trailer. The driver of the Nissan, 52-year-old Barry Arthur, of Chillicothe, exited his vehicle while still in the roadway.

Arthur was then struck by a 2011 Ford Escape, which was also heading northbound on U.S. 23. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Pickaway Township EMS at 5:29 a.m.

The driver of the truck was taken to an area hospital, while a passenger was taken to a Grove City hospital. The driver of the Ford was treated at the scene and released.
