Had to thaw out a bit after this morning’s spectating, those fire rings were life savers! Early evening sunlight is glorious, adding fire to a beautiful ruby red barleywine.
#threeFloyds Pillar of Beasts is barrel-aged, rich with coconut and caramel, both sweet and tart and salty. Perfect for a sunny cold day.
Monday has been a long week already… what Pillar of Beasts awaited me?
I’ll chase them off with this beauty from #threefloyds
Lucious ruby red, a tart lead with a carmelly body and a smooth salty coconut finish. Really nice sipper!
Portland’s #HorseBrassPub is hosting a new brewfest this weekend, inspired by the Horse Brass’ late founder Don Younger (the “Old Tavern Rat”) and #barleywine of the same name brewed in his honor: the Old Tavern Rat Barleywine Invitational Brewfest.
Seems to be a ruby colored week, as my spare time slips away to work overload…
#pryesBrewing Drops of Time is a fantastic #barleyWine break, barrel-aged for an excellent whiskey and rye lead with rich caramel and vanilla finish.
About to record the Otaku in Review Winter 2025 Season preview with @station
Poured me a can of the Cushwa Brewing Quirauk barleywine. Perfect sipping beer for it!
After an 11 hour work day it’s time to reclaim what Drops of Time I can.
#pryesBrewing to the rescue. This deep amber barrel-aged #barleyWine is delightful caramel and vanilla with whisky and bourbon spiced heat. Smooth and sweet.
Maybe not straight #stouturday fare, but #barrelAged so it counts, right?
#pryesBrewing Drops of Time BA barley wine starts moderate sweet and warms into caramel and vanilla notes. A little heat and spice from the barrels. A nice winter treat.

Sentanced to Life barrel-aged #barleywine from #ghosttown. My first real winter warmer of the season.
Drinking a The Bruery Barley Nouveau - Barleywine w/ bacon, coffee, and Madagascar vanilla beans
Surprisingly the bacon, vanilla and coffee all are super balanced. Nothing is overwhelming. But this is a big boy at 17.4%. Gonna sleep well.
Went to the 6th anniversary event for Sapwood Cellars today. There were 10 anniversary beers on for the event, and the ticket got you a small pour of each, and you took the glass home.
Got to meet up with some friends and drink some great beer.
Currently at Black Flag Brewing enjoying their Barrel Aged Beer Weekend Flight. The flight is their new Barleywine and 4 barrel aged stouts.
Went to Elder Pine Brewing & Blending Co's 6th anniversary yesterday. Got 3 flights and a pour of their 16% Barleywine since I didn't have to drive.
It was a good time with friends, and I took a nice nap when I got home.
Drinking a Sapwood Cellars Welli Vanilli - Roastwine Age in WL Weller Bourbon barrels w/ Tonga Vanilla Beans - 11.7%
Really nice "Roastwine". Got the smoothness of a barleywine with that toasty stout flavor.

Last of the #liftBridge 2023 barrel-aged Commander barleywine on a beautiful summer afternoon. Look at that color! Delightfully refreshing.
And my glasses are obviously going cloudy, time for a new set…

Popping a bottle cellared since last year, it’s a perfect summer day for a 2023 #liftBridge Commander Barrel-aged barleywine.
12.5%, ruby red, sweet and smooth with a tart finish. Notes of cherry and bourbon, a perfect summer BA!
Drinking a Bruery Smooth Criminal (2014) - English Style barleywine aged in Bourbon barrels - 15%
Aged for 10 years and still delicious!
