A peaceful morning on the way to work. I usually don't like getting started in the mornings on Mondays. This was a good reminder to take a deep breath and slow down.

I renewed my #PrayerFlags today as well. The old ones were little more than a collection of tattered threads.

I try to be respectful with them. I never allow them to touch the floor and I burned the old ones tonight, as is #tradition.

They promote #peace, #compassion, #strength, and #wisdom. #Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras on the flags are blown by the wind diffusing goodwill and compassion into the surrounding air. I like that idea very much, and I’ve hung them for years.

In anticipation of the upcoming indictment of a certain public figure in the US, I discovered that confetti cannons are all sold out locally.

Instead, I found a beautiful small-scale string of #Himalayan prayer flags. These white, red, green, yellow and blue flags will be ceremonially hung when the moment comes, to reinforce our collective dream of a sustained #Democratic #Peace across our planet.

I’m told the best time to hang new #PrayerFlags is in the morning on sunny, windy days.
