#mad ? #language #linux I ordered and paid for a #Linux starter pack on a #USB stick. They have sent me 5 cds/DVDs. I said on my order, "I do not have a cd drive on any of my kit". ? do people not read anymore? & no, won't be trying to transfer the files on the cd's onto a USB stick. Experience tells me i. this won't work ii. it will make the cd's unreadable on anything but the original device. & please don't suggest downloading from the #Linux site. Tried 3 times, each time, 'fail to install'.

I liked this youtube video from JCristina explaining why last year he switched to LibreOffice and Linux away from MS Office and Microsoft. I feel the same way as he does about Microsoft and most big proprietary software companies.

Even though things with Windows weren't as bad when I switched fully to Linux back around 2007 when it was still Win XP, Windows has just kept getting worse with all the spying, subscriptions, ads, AI, etc. while Linux has kept getting better and easier, with none of that invasive stuff.

The only thing I'd add to what he says, regarding the part where he mentions how you have to pay $10 a *month* to use MS Office (plus subs to other $ software): If you use FOSS, imagine how much money you've saved over the years! So if you can, why not donate some of that savings to the FOSS software projects you like or use the most to help keep them going.

I'm looking for a Markdown editor that I can use to write my blog posts. It should be nice to look at, of course support Markdown (and possibly dialects of it), offer a preview and otherwise just work well.

Linux support is necessary and it would be nice if it wasn't another Electron app.

Maybe one of you has a recommendation.

Maybe Linux has a solution for this but one of the most annoying things I have right now in Windows is when I flip one monitor to my Firestick and then I can't get windows from the left monitor over to the right.

It's a standard window I can (Win-Left) or (Win-Right) to use snap to get it over to viewing but right now I can't get my launchy window which doesn't even have a taskbar icon. it's just stuck ther euntil i can flip out of my Firestick
