I must have read "I have no mouth, and I must scream" by #HarlanEllison decades ago.
It's one of the scariest things I've read in my life.
Yet I've not read much else of his writings.
I've just gone through "jeffty is five" and it's a masterpiece.

"O Menino e seu Cachorro" (A Boy and His Dog, 1975). A história se passa no ano de 2024 numa terra devastada por uma guerra nuclear.
Acompanhamos um jovem de 18 anos e se cachorro, que se comunica por telepatia (!). Na superfície, somente deserto e sucata. Debaixo da terra é possível encontrar vestígios de uma civilização prévia (anos 1980, talvez), como uma fotografia daquela época.
O maior perigo que ronda são os mutantes e, em dado momento, eles decobrem algo mais no subsolo...
Baseado na obra "I have no mouth, and I must scream" (1967) de Harlan Ellison, trata-se de um filme interessante que inspirou outras películas pós-apocalípticas, como "Mad Max" (1979). Contém um violência bem crua, personagens amorais e um dos finais mais repulsivos que já vi.

After over 3 decades (including two lifetime subs), my #Interzone subscription has ended, and I don't see the point in renewing. I managed to finish two stories in about the last 10 issues, and I didn't find those 2 all that interesting. I don't think I ever got over the departure of #DavidPringle
At the same time, I'm re-reading the first "Dangerous Visions" anthology by #HarlanEllison . I still remember some of the stories, decades after I last read it.

@joyce Entertaining profile of a rock star SF writer. A few days ago I read a deep dive analysis of Ellison's classic Star Trek episode, City on the Edge of Forever. Incredible. If Ellison wrote nothing else, he would still be legend. One of the most influential SF writers of all time.
