Back to #Wayland and input methods.

What's your favorite input method?

Cause for me it was the one on old #Nokia phones. I could type with my hands in my pockets! Handy in winter.

Tested with #cosmic and #GTK .

This is just the beginning. Actually useful stuff is coming in the future. #Mobile keyboards, #Chinese input is what it's for:

Just playing around with the #fedora #cosmic spin. It's really very nice! A little rough around the edges as you'd expect, but cosmic is looking like a really good DE. Some really sensible and well thought out design decisions and things just kinda work how you'd expect them to.

If you step back and take a #cosmic view of 'us' we are just temporary occupants on the surface of a big lump of matter amongst quadrillions of other lumps.
We are very small beer in the broader scheme of things.

@midtsveen Not a gamer, but I’ve been quite happy with #UltramarineLinux, a Fedora variant with easier defaults and added repos. It runs great on my pile of 2015 and older Mac & PC laptops, and my 2014 iMac.

Lately I’ve been toying with #TuxedoOS (Debian) on my iMac, and I’m surprised at the boost in speed! Tuxedo doesn’t work on all of my old laptops (expected), but once KDE 6 arrives on a Debian distro, I’m definitely trying it out (if #COSMIC doesn’t lure me away first).

Alas, my experiment with @tuxedocomputers Tuxedo OS on Hardcase, my Early 2014 MacBook Air, has run into hardware issues.

I was able to get the old Broadcom Wi-Fi working with broadcom-wl, but it looks like the Apple keyboard drivers may have been removed from Tuxedo’s kernel, as couldn’t get the function keys working at all with the usual fnmode method.

So it’s back to #UltramarineLinux while I wait for @system76 to finish #COSMIC.
