  • I transferred some files that would have taken windows about 5min, it only took 20sec.

If we’re talking about storage devices, this may just be lots of caching, which in my opinion sucks for slow removable devices, because the transfer stays in background and you still can’t unplug the damn USB.
Though there can also be some difference with filesystems. I can get pretty fast and stable RW with F2FS compared to exFAT on these devices.

  • I just did so for the first time today. Oddly, I didn’t feel any effects (aside from the needle puncture). I was really worried I’d feel terrible, or that I might even vomit (I asked what to do in such case beforehand), but thankfully nothing. (I mean, I am underweight, just OK enough for the limits)
I only got a bit freaked out when I removed the bandage and it took my dumb ass a while to realize that the extra drop of fresh blood is too light (I probably peeled off the scab). Anyway, so I just put a band-aid over it. At least I didn’t have a white shirt.

I am just disappointed that I got A+. I mean, this isn’t school, I hoped for 0-. 😕 Well, searching the internet, it seems it may be good for plasma or platelets, but I kinda fear the machine xD

Anyway, the personnel was really nice, so that was quite helpful too.

Fuck that shit, I was ready to go to a shop, but later found out it’s a holiday. I have nothing. 3 packets of instant oatmeal and I just ate some tiramisu from Lidl and don’t feel so well. Probably because it was 0.5kg (1.1 lbs) which is apparently 6 servings. But who knows, those servings always lie.

  • OK, I seem to have the wrong opinion here, but I personally don’t mind AI stuff. It can make the weirdest ideas into an image, which can be often funny. Also some AI image prompts may be quite complicated. I remember someone posting the prompt for some image and it was like a whole sheet of paper worth of keywords. I remember it because the negative prompt included “fused anus”, which really caught my eye.

I never worked with it though, I have no idea how it really works, apart from using simpler tools like Gemini.

Nowadays, I have a 2-in-1 laptop and use a stylus to take notes instead!

I also have one, and it’s cool. But, but! Have you tried a fountain pen? I mean, I may be weird, but it’s kind of cool. But I really, really should invest into some better paper. Regular paper seems OK, but something better… would be… better.
Though I did have some luck with certain cheap notebooks from Papírny Brno. The ones that have smoother, white paper. Not the darker, coarse, recycled stuff.

And that’s even with that cheap paper (though most paper won’t show any sheen at all). Better paper would likely show more sheening, especially in combination with wetter pen, but I don’t know where to get it.

Although… the Skull & Roses dries a bit too quickly. If you stop writing for a bit, it dries in a few seconds in the nib, and won’t write anymore.
Another issue is that the ink can be a bit distracting. I like to watch it dry, I like to write with it, I like to look at the sheen which makes me angle it under light to see it better. So I just end up scribbling something, and look at it, and my mind is gone.

Unfortunately we do most stuff on computers, so I don’t get to write much.

  • I have a MiBand which for me is primarily a regular watch with notifications.

I haven’t used audio notifications or ringing on my phone for years. I can also just allow the most important apps, while the less important notifications I’ll see just on my phone when I unlock it, unless I blocked those notifications too.

Currently this means I get SMS notifications (mostly useful for verification codes / package pick-up codes), Lemmy reply notifications (and few other e-mails), bank notifications (like payments), phone battery charged (80%) notification, and notifications of upcoming space rocket launches with webcast available (within 10 minutes).

My phone doesn’t make a sound, it doesn’t light up the screen, it doesn’t show notifications on lockscreen, it doesn’t vibrate, it doesn’t use notification LED. The smartband is a replacement.
