To install #lineageos on my new old tablet, the instructions tell me to use #odin v3.13.1 (see https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/gta4lwifi/install/#pre-install-instructions).
I'm not able to find that for #linux (wtf?). Is it available somewhere or are there alternatives? Could I use a never version (the Odin instructions seem to be strict about the versions) or maybe #heimdallflash ?
@the_grue post 2018 Samsung devices are tricky to install. Better follow the instructions exactly. Use a windows computer.
@Kurt You're funny. This is a Microsoft free household.
@Kurt Wooohooo! That looks very promising, thank you!
@the_grue
oh, nice to see fellow liberator of gta4lwifi
here is a present for you:
#Odin 4, which runs on Linux.

Before Odin 4, I did it with Odin 3 from within Windows 7 VM by letting it use USB-connected tablet. Had to use USB 2 setting (OHCI + EHCI)
@testman Hey, thanks for the hint! I've seen that version before, but somewhere on the instructions I read explicitly to use v3.13.1. Isn't that necessary?
@the_grue
no, Odin 4 worked fine for me.
And Heimdall should also work fine.
Instructions probably include link to that specific version because it was the latest available version at the time of writing, and author wanted to make sure that people don't use older versions.
@testman that would make sense.
