To all of you that are joining us at @Vivaldi , I would like to welcome you.

We know that many are looking for options away from Big Tech and we are happy many of you are choosing us.

We have been building browsers for a long time now. Many of us were at Opera. I co-founded Opera in 1995.

As Opera drifted in a bad direction, I co-founded Vivaldi to provide a real alternative to Big Tech and I believe we can play a very important role moving forward. Thanks for your support!

technicat

@jon @Vivaldi I tried ditching and switching to for a while and hope for all its success but I disliked the the commercial tie-ins, in particular Temu, and I didn't see any way to stop autocompletions to those sites even after clearing the preset bookmarks, so I'm currently back on firefox.

@technicat In settings, Address Bar, there's a checkbox that enables/disables autocomplete. You can also uncheck suggestions right below to avoid even getting a suggestion showing up. I typed www.temu and didn't see any autocomplete at all.

@jon @Vivaldi

@mike @jon @Vivaldi I turned off Direct Match in Settings and that did the trick - typing te in the address bar no longer completes to the temu official site but does complete to my site (technicat.com) which is what I wanted. Besides my abhorrence of temu, it was just aggravating that it always completed to temu instead of technicat.
