Nelson
Welcome! Whether you're new here or an old hand, please write an #introduction to help us get to know you. Hashtags can help others find you.

I'm Nelson, your Jawns.Club admin, and a #climateJustice activist living in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of #Philadelphia. I love #bicycles / #ebikes, #birdsong, and #solar power. Last year I moved house entirely by bicycle. My favorite band is #Queen, and I'm slowly collecting #vinyl from local musicians. I sing in the bath and carry a song in my heart.

Nelson
#Scrobbling folks! If you want to preserve your listening history, it seems good to scrobble listens to an open source/data project like ListenBrainz.

But is it bad to also scrobble to the original Last.fm? According to Wikipedia, Last.fm is owned by Paramount. It's a corporation. We can't trust it. Will it enshittify tomorrow, add AI or NFT crap, sell user data to someone evil?

I want to think not. I miss the innocence of the old Web. I want to keep using a site I've used since 2005.

#LastFM

Nelson
I need an overview of tactics/strategies for rigging elections, with historical examples of how they've been used. (I'd also appreciate methods for addressing each flavor of election fuckery.)

Could you please recommend books or any other relevant resources?

A quick search found this book, is it any good? Nelson
Sugar Ray got me good, all the way from 1999.

I put on their CD "14:59" for the first time, and the song "New Direction" began playing. I was like, death metal? What? Is this the right CD? I double-checked both the packaging and the CD itself. It was. Sugar Ray are just funny guys.

Nelson
I know that children's entertainment under capitalism was never going to be a good source for action plans or organizing training, but...

I'm still disappointed that the generation raised on Raffi, Captain Planet, FernGully, Princess Mononoke & Studio Ghibli, etc. hasn't pulled together in time to prevent the accelerating destruction of our biosphere. (How about now? Now?)

Did art like WALL-E hit anyone where they live? Or did it slide right off and leave everyone unchanged by the experience?
