I've created a basic app for searching an aerial photo using text queries. That's right, you can search for "roundabout" or "school playground" on an image of a city and get pretty good results!

Under the hood this uses the SkyCLIP model and the Pinecone vector database.

@robintw Fun story, I pitched this exact idea during my PhD interview ten years ago. The tech wasn’t really there yet, but it was a fun idea and I ended up getting the PhD position.
@robintw this could be integrated in StreetComplete to generate suggestions for the community to validate.
