My first foray into large format portraiture has some issues. Overexposed, thanks to a lack of aperture control on the lens and a slow, hand-actuated shutter. That hand actuated shutter is also responsible for some camera shake, resulting in further lack of clarity.
I made a few mistakes in development: loaded the film the wrong way, so it slipped out of the holder and got scratched up during agitation, and forgot to rinse off the anti-halation layer.
@JohnWSheldon Not bad for a start! Onwards and upwards!
@carusb I learned a bunch of lessons here, and since I'm shooting on litho film at the moment they aren't too expensive.
My lessons:
1: Shoot indoors or in shade until I get a faster shutter or can rig up a holder for ND filters.
2: Make a cable release or something like it for the shutter so I don't shake the lens while operating it.
3: Use a checklist while developing so I don't miss anything obvious.
I have a shoot scheduled for next weekend, so more lessons to come I'm sure!
@johnwsheldon I know it's not the intent but those are some immaculate cryptid vibes
