I use this place as a commonplace note - a personal compilation of ideas, quotations, and observations. It is where one gathers & organizes information for future reference and reflection.

In this case, you can't accuse AI of hallucination
I don't know how @simon manages to do interesting things, build https://datasette.io/, be active on all social media (I have seen him on mastodon, bluesky, and X).
What is your secret Simon?
Here is my 2024 year in review: https://www.jjude.com/2024/
Published my weekly notes: https://www.jjude.com/2024-week-notes/#week-notes-24-51
• Moved this blog to SSG with 11ty & hosted on netlify
• Used windsurf to understand a large next.js codebase
• Preached under the title: God's Army
• Jerry created an app to convert mp4 to mp3 via cursor: https://jerrygarrett.com/mp4-to-mp3/
• Both boys are learning Javascript from Wes Bos' course. Happy that they are learning basics
• This week's family lunch is at Sector 7 social. Loved their Christmas special: Chilli & Zatar Rubbed Grilled fish & Sizzling Christmas cake.
Proud #homeschooling dad:
My 12yo used Cursor to build his personal website.
He made a video about it.
Proud, but also mildly concerned he'll be asking for VC funding next week. 😂

Pass on your feedback.
How many of you are on Bluesky? Though I am not planning to stop being here (don’t want to trust another enterprise), I am testing out bsky now more.
Hey @thej : I taught writing weekly notes / retros to my kids too. My younger one published his first weekly note: https://notes.jerrygarrett.com/2024-48/
May be GenAI is not bullshit?
since I got into programming I’ve assumed that one shared trait between programmers was curiosity, a willingness to learn, and that our maxim is that we can’t ever stop learning, because what we’re doing is constantly changing beneath our fingers and if we don’t pay attention it might slip aways from us, leaving us with knowledge that’s no longer useful
The titles, numbers, they’re there. People probably know that. The way I’d like to be remembered more is like a good person from a small village in Mallorca.
