I just set up my home to be voice controlled and responded by well, one of my favourite audio book narrators. Its as scary as it is silly. And no, I won’t keep it so.

@jakobrosin How did you do this? Is it Home Assistant?

@alpuzz yep, home assistant with gpt and eleven labs

@jakobrosin @alpuzz Did you train Fry's voice yourself, or is it in voice library or something?

@jakobrosin lol Is that supposed to be Stephen Fry? :) I like it. HomeAssistant/HomeKit I'm guessing?

@zersiax Home assistant with gpt as conversation agent and eleven labs as tts. I eventually want to build a fully local voice control system.

@JamminJerry I am running Home Assistant as my home automation platform. Home Assistant allows you to choose what services it uses for voice control, so I chose Chat GPT for text processing and Elevenlabs for speech

@jakobrosin that is actually pretty cool! sounds rather complicated for me, but just cool that is actually possible.

@cordova5029 it curretly uses a bit too many api tokens to be financially sensible. I want to set this up locally at some point, but this needs some hardware upgrades

@jakobrosin @FreakyFwoof I so want that! How does that work, setting it up?

@WestphalDenn @FreakyFwoof Home assistant for home control, with gpt as convesation agent and Eleven Labs as TTS.
