Spread lies about the 'other' party to win!
You get a divided country that reverses its laws every 4 or 8 years. No choice of who to vote for as you hate one party. No selection of 10 or more parties to choose real change, like proportional representation offers in those countries. Where there are No culture wars. No hate speech on every corner. No divided, messed up country that everyone else laughs at.
A lot of these issues would be solved with preferential voting (ranked choice) without having to go all the way to proportional representation for the lower house (which sometimes leads to seats going to fringe parties with low vote counts)
In addition, in Australia we have mandatory voting on a Saturday plus pre-poll stations & postal votes.
