I did some math.
The estimate is there are 160 million individual taxpayers in the USA (using Filled in tax return data)
if the saving per taxpayer is $2.208
then the math does not add up.
160 million times 2,208 equals 353.28 billion. (353,280,000,000) and not 248,032,612,661.
For the 248.032.612.661 to have a saving of 2.208 per tax payer, That Equals 112 Million Tax payers... (112,363,197 taxpayers to be exact)
so...like i said, The math does not add up.

@georgetakei MTG has also said that government jobs aren't real jobs because they don't create wealth. This is a fundamental misunderstanding about what government is for. We have government because we need things that we cannot do individually. We pool our resources, through taxes, to do these things collectively. A government service is not supposed to make a profit. A government worker's job is to make sure that the money that flows through the institution serves the people well.
If we privatize government services, they have to make a profit and somebody makes money off of them. That is basically skimming off money from services we have already paid for through taxes. That is not efficiency. That's a scam.
And it's the same with healthcare, elderly care, and public transportation. In Germany, they've been trying (unsuccessfully) for years to turn hospitals into profit centers – like in the US. It just doesn't work because we have to afford these costs in a just society. Instead, we're knowingly transforming democracies into fascist oligarchies. Hail Musk & Trump.
@georgetakei if these are the numbers they are providing, then the “savings” are obviously less. But let’s just say that those numbers are accurate. If people are ok with all this carnage and destruction for $2k, then we have a bigger issue in this country.

Even if those absurd numbers were real, that money pays for government services that benefit taxpayers. The taxpayers will have to buy those services now from private vendors. Private vendors need to make a profit. So to get back what Musk is taking from them, the taxpayers will end up paying more to get, at best, the same thing.
Elon Musk repeats a meme from one-time WH chief of staff, Andrew Card. Being a govt employee is a contradiction in terms, a loss to the private sector and a waste of govt resources. Their goal is to defang govt, to prevent it from reining in their resource extraction and profit-taking.
Like Musk, Card said that as a WH employee and principal adviser to a Republican president. He spent his career selling bogus ideas to congresscritters - aka, public employees.

I am a cancer researcher whose salary is fully funded by the US government. As are the majority of scientists in my department. For now, anyways. Our institution is set to lose $100 million annually from changes to indirect costs, which help fund things like internal grants for early-career scientists (now canceled).
Those people will be getting jobs fighting cancer for the EU.

@georgetakei Yes, those numbers are complete fantasy, just more lies from fElon. The numbers have been debunked by a heap of people so far, including analysts, constitutional lawyers etc, the actual savings are minimal and in fact govt spending has gone up since trump took office.
