I've no problem with gay people, never had. Except one dude, in London, when I was passing through at age 18, who tried to seduce me and was a bit of a pain in the ass. Women probably experience that every day, more or less.

And I respect it. I respect the feelings. The love. I understand that it isn't in any way different from what's going on between men and women. It's not a hard concept to grasp.

In case you wonder how anyone would "pass though" London, I was headed for Scotland. The holy land. It was, at least, until I found out that their home-grown whisky is even more expensive than the same product sold on the continent, due to taxation.
You know, in the UK they go to some lengths to discourage peeps from boozing.

You know, 3 months out on the ocean, crammed together on a tiny ship with plenty of other, not too well smelling men, there's nothing like a strong drink that would give you some comfort.
