@deirdreassenza well, naturally! We are men. We mansplain everything. It's just what we do. 😂

@deirdreassenza

What's the opposite of <chef's kiss>, because this is that.

@pseudonym @deirdreassenza I'd say this is the opposite of chef's kiss

@deirdreassenza

does that mean she shot the guy who answered with a nail gun? My mom wants to know.....carry on

@deirdreassenza I work in a very male dominated field, but my new colleagues who are a new team are all female. This, according to the female boss is entirely by chance…my ears are already burning.

@deirdreassenza Precovid I was a highly skilled electromechanical assembler working with almost all men mostly half my age or younger. I was asked to pass a wrench to a coworker, a man my age. My arm out stretched, wrench in my hand, he came up to me way closer than needed, grabbed me with BOTH hands at the shoulder and under my arm pit, gripped my arm as he ran both his hands down my arm as I stood there frozen and appalled, slowly down my arm until he finally took the wrench out of my had, staring me down and smiling at me. When I complained to the supervisor he said, 'well no one else has complained.' Really. No one, you mean he doesnt do this to the men on the team and I am the only woman and my complaint meant nothing. Still, I was making 70k a year and not even clearing 12k this year working a shit remote job.

The rest of the men on my team began running interference as they knew I was about to get fired and go to jail for cracking his skull.

@Crystal_Fish_Caves
I am very glad to see at least one woman still standing in this kind of field.

The punishment for women who even exist now in trades and tech is immediate and pretty much legal (the 1991 Civil Rights "Restoration" Act made lesser rights for women the law). Then when women end up poor and powerless due to the loss of lifetime earnings, we're smeared with whatever acceptable pejorative is current for women, and dismissed.

I very very much hope you find a way out of this.

@terminally_shy thank you for your very thoughtful and caring response

@deirdreassenza an all male panel on women in the workforce.

@deirdreassenza First I thought it was positive, because a man understood women's position then... yeah, mansplaining... ^^' Sowwy
