#TheCryptocalypseChronicles: Pete Hegseth, A Man Of Questionable Judgment
#PeteHegseth's in the news lately because of a "mishap" with a Signal group chat involving possibly top secret information about killing #Houthis. You might think this demonstrates poor judgment.
This is all less surprising if you know that Hegseth is a crypto bro who lost a bunch of money in possibly the most obvious cryptocurrency ponzi scheme in history, #CelsiusNetwork. Hegseth entrusted the group of Russian Israelis running #Celsius with his hard earned money *even after* the CFO of the firm was sent to prison in #Israel for #moneylaundering and organized crime connections.
tl;dr Maybe America should reconsider putting crypto bros in charge of the military.

@cryptadamist The Signal group chat is itself straight from a Project 2025 playbook. Without the accident involving a journalist we would never know who participated in planning and what war crimes.

At about 18:30, they start talking about the need to be aware of creating records, which could be FOIA’d. Around 20:15, the moderator explicitly asks what about Signal. The response is very “check with your agency” lawyerspeak but does indicate that it’s not ok, which ANY conscientious govt employee or contractor would take to mean “don’t do it.” These guys? 
All about “but can I maybe get away with it?”

one thing i never got around to publishing was the fact that the DOJ lawyers who resigned rather than implement trump's illegal order to drop the charges against Eric Adams were the lawyers who prosecuted Sam Bankman-Fried.
there's a crypto angle to pretty much every major story in the trump administration.
