Well, this is going to be interesting. A new toy arrived today. NEC PC-2001 'handheld' computer - bigger than the 'pokecon' calculators.

It was listed as 'junk / non-working'.

It works. Now to clean it up and figure it out! I'm familiar with the NEC PC-8201 series so this should be similar(?) How hard can it be!! :D

First step: Learn Japanese. The manual isn't available in English. I tried a google translate of the PDF and it churned out gems like:
