Maybe it's time to mint a platinum trillion dollar coin. If minted, it would give the federal reserve an asset that could be used to support additional borrowing with existing debt limits. It's a bit of a mickey mouse move, and erodes the power of Congress, but if Congress is irresponsible then perhaps it's a justified temporary measure. $$$
