I posted the Billy Bragg song answer to Oliver Anthony recently, but this quote is too good not to pass along.
"Since I saw that clip of Oliver Anthony singing "Rich Men North of Richmond" the ghost of Woody Guthrie has been whispering in my ear.
"Help that guy out" Woody keeps telling me.
"Let him know there's a way to deal with those problems he's singing about."
Today I sat down & wrote this response to Mr Anthony's song, for people like him & people like you."

I thought that was a great reaction. I've decided I like the guy. Politically he's about the same as I was at his age, living in the country. You don't see billionaires in the country and you don't see how people have to live in the city, so it's hard to get a read on what or who is causing all this. I think he's an inspired musician who stumbled into a shit storm, because the online left and right are too out of touch to see anything but their own narratives.
