@Balkingpoints but the way you were framing it, it's the fault of #crypto that #SVB fell (even hinting regulators should do something about it). But SVB's failure has little or nothing to do with crypto, even the linked article states as much (more like SVB had taken risky leverages). The bank's failure will impact crypto, to a degree, but it's not the crypto industry that triggered the bank's collapse.
@Setok @Balkingpoints How much did Silvergate’s failure, days before (a heavily crypto exposed bank) though contribute to creating the conditions for a run on SVB? It was when Silvergate fell that I first saw talk that SVB might be next.
@Siberian @Balkingpoints Things never happen completely in isolation, so I'm sure there was some knock-on effect from #Silvergate to #SVB, but the trigger for SVB was not related to that, as far as I can tell.
Even Silvergate: it was exposed through #FTX. FTX's collapse is still going to have ramifications, and there will be more rotten apples (buckle up!), but that's not the whole #crypto industry.
