This species of is , with males brooding eggs in a brood pouch before giving birth to live young. Found in the Southwest , from Sydney, New South Wales and southern Queensland () to the Solomon Islands.

Like many other species, the major threat to White’s Seahorse is loss, impacted by coastal development, pollution, destructive boat anchoring and sedimentation.
