NerdiCorgi
Just like there's no honor amongst thieves there's no room for compromise in the party of hate.

NerdiCorgi
I dislike how guys like Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump, and Mike Lindell all seem to think there's no way in hell they're experiencing the well-deserved consequences of their own actions and are instead being "attacked" or "cancelled" by some shadowy underworld organization they've angered for "saying too much truth."

But what I absolutely HATE is how many morons will hear that kind of drivel and go, "Yeah that makes sense! Everyone knows the world is controlled by a group I coincidentally hate!"

NerdiCorgi
Hey, Mr. Rosenberg, your article here: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66154912.amp

...is kind of garbage. It presents no new information and closes on a note of "I wish I knew." Yeah, no shit. I wish I knew too, that's why I clicked through to your five paragraphs of nothing.

NerdiCorgi
Getting set up at the new place. Still some unpacking and other work to be done. Need to buy some book shelves, too... But not a bad start.

NerdiCorgi
If I have to choose between Human Rights Watch and the defenders of Ukraine on the matter of "inhumane" landmines, I'm gonna go with the people who are defending the sovereignty of their nation against the sort of monsters who committed the human rights atrocities we saw in Bucha.

NerdiCorgi
I have three nights left in Japan before I'm forced to return to Ron DeSantis's trash heap of surface level hate and bigotry. Maybe, if I'm really lucky, he'll be arrested for kidnapping all those migrants.

NerdiCorgi
How horrific must MTG be to work with if the other members of the "freedom caucus" are considering kicking her out, lol. That's like being told you smell by someone covered in garbage.

NerdiCorgi
Everyone deserves a second chance. No one deserves a third. Apply that to your own life first and foremost.

NerdiCorgi
The FCC is gearing up to look into ISP Data Caps, even going so far as to acknowledge that the internet is now more of an essential utility than a luxury. This is great, and hopefully will be a stepping stone towards ending "territorial noncompetes" aka "anti-consumer monopolies" and give us the ability to shop around for price and service rather than having one cable and one fiber provider per town.

NerdiCorgi
In the end, even though they had found a small number of people in whom they found comfort and acceptance, they hadn't found it in their family, their peers, or society. In America right now, the best they could ask of the majority is either tolerance or indifference - all while this year alone over 500 anti-Trans laws have been passed.

They were young. They were innocent. They were vulnerable. And they were betrayed by their fellow Americans.

Call out bigotry when you see it. For Nova.

NerdiCorgi
Approximately one month ago, someone dear to me took their own life in an absolutely terrible way. They had always felt at odds with their gender identity, so they had begun the transition process just a year prior. But that courage wasn't met with love, patience, or acceptance. It was met with judgement, mockery, bigotry, and simply bullying.

There was nothing I or anyone else could say or do to change the reality of the world they saw as against them every single day.

NerdiCorgi
Hell yeah, J.B. Pritzker!!! Illinois just became the first state in the nation to outlaw book bans in public schools and libraries! He even acknowledges that book bans are exclusively done for censorship and marginalization.

Now, to tamp down this celebration, I need to frame this with a bit of fear... Folks are going to challenge this, and I fear that SCOTUS may set a precedent that censorship is, in itself, a form a free speech.

NerdiCorgi
So, this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I fully support airlines charging passengers who occupy two seats double rate. Ignoring the fact that their entire business model is "fill as many seats as possible" these aircraft are flown and fueled according to weight and balance, which is divided evenly across all seats. Either they pay for each seat they use, we socialize the cost to all passengers, or the airline operates (that specific aspect of their business) at a loss. That's reality.

NerdiCorgi
Here's a few truly wild ideas I would love to see implemented:

1) If you grew up in a home making more than double the national average household income: you aren't allowed to run for public office.
2) Term limits.
3) Age limits.
4) Complete and total financial transparency for all elected officials.
5) Competency requirements to vote on subjects (ie, if you don't know anything about healthcare, you don't get to vote on healthcare rights)
6) End all lobbying. It's bribery, plain and simple.

NerdiCorgi
Mike Pence demands Garland publicly justify the Trump Indictment, I guess not realizing that an Indictment is, by very nature of its own existence, a justification of charges and by having that indictment publicly available, as it is, Garland already complied to Pence's demands.

Aren't these people supposed to be law makers? Shouldn't they at least know what words mean?

NerdiCorgi
Here's the thing: If don't automatically hate you for being rich. I automatically hate you if your parents are rich. Because not only are you so disconnected from the reality is the common man that you've never had to suffer or sacrifice to get to where you are, but you probably don't even understand the gravity and impact of the endless opportunities that safety net of parental wealth afforded you.

Sure you've stumbled and failed along the way. But you could afford to. Most can't.

NerdiCorgi
It's now 8:48pm on a Sunday and I have had to bail on two attempts at dinner following wait times in excess of 30 minutes just to order food. I'm now 15 minutes deep into a third attempt, which I ordered online to-go after waiting at the to-go counter for 11 minutes (of that same 15) without so much as a nod of acknowledgement.

Am I invisible or does customer service just completely suck these days?! I tend to tip roughly 50% but you have to actually ask me what I want as step 1 in the process!

NerdiCorgi
One week from today, I fly out for Japan. It'll only be a couple weeks of escapism, but I oh so desperately look forward to it. It's been a hard road just to get to this point and, inarguably, there are more responsible things I could do with the money... But none of those will matter if my brain stresses itself into a pile of goo.

NerdiCorgi
"These charges are unprecedented and it’s a sad day for our country, especially in light of what clearly appears to be a two-tiered justice system where some are selectively prosecuted, and others are not," said Gov. Glenn Youngkin in a tweet defending Trump. If he thinks THAT is injustice, just wait until he finally listens to what POC and the LGBTQ+ community are going though at the hands of his own party.
